This edition of Hugin is dedicated to
Claudius Ptolemaeus and Marinus of Tyre
Marinus was the first known geographer to introduce the concepts of latitude and longitude. Hugin uses the derived concept of yaw and pitch to place images on the panosphere.
Claudius was the author of several scientific treatises, and while maps based on scientific principles have existed before him, he improved projections and his maps are amongst the oldest to have survived in time.
